Glamego September 2018 – beauty subscription box review

Hello beauties ! Hope you are having a great week.

In this post I will be reviewing the Glamego September 2018 – India’s leading monthly beauty subscription box. If you follow my blog you know I review this box every month since last November. I have a subscription plan of 12 months. If you want to know more about Glamego or want to subscribe please head over to their website :

This month Glamego is celebrating their Mid Anniversary. So you get to customize the entire box including the skin and every product. You can choose 5 products which are combination of skincare and makeup. This is a great opportunity to stock up on your favorite products or try a new one you have not received in your previous boxes.

I chose the Mother’s Day theme for the skin of my box. I absolutely love the cute animated baby animals and the message for mom inside.

If you are registered with Glamego, I will suggest you to choose the products as soon as you get the email notification. The products go out of stock very soon, so hurry up. You can get products worth upto INR 4500 this month for a box which costs only INR 399.

These are the products I chose and received for this month’s Glamego box :

  • Aroma Magic Coffee Bean Scrub
  • Votre multivitamin & rejuvenating Night Cream
  • Bio Bloom Body Mist – Valley of Flowers
  • Island Kiss Lip Moisturizer Cherry Blossom Flores – Berry Pink Tint
  • Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Lipstick – Lust

I wanted to choose the Face wash by Aroma Magic, but sadly it was out of stock so I had no choice but to go for the Coffee Bean Scrub. I love the Votre night cream and Bio Bloom body mist, so stocked up on these. The Island Kiss lip balm I received in the previous Glamego box was stunning, so I wanted to try out a different shade. Manna Kadar lipstick is a new product for me to try out this month.

Aroma Magic Coffee Bean Scrub :

I got this product in the June Glamego box. Please click the link below for detailed review of the product :

Personally I do not like the smell of coffee. Most of you will be surprised I know, but I am a flavored tea person. Sometimes I like cold coffee with ice cream combos, but not a die hard coffee lover. Moreover this scrub is not as heavy duty as I like, my favorite scrub is Biotique Papaya Scrub. This product leaves an oily residue on my skin even after washing my face well. This can be really good for dry skin people, but for my combination skin this product is not my preference.

Votre multivitamin & rejuvenating Night Cream :

I got this product in the May Glamego box. Please check out detailed review about this night cream in the below link :

Glamego May 2018 – beauty subscription box review

I love Votre products in general. I have tried their Face Serum long back. We also received the day and night glitter face masks in last month’s Glamego box. I am using them constantly. I have almost hit pan on my previous Votre night cream, so stocked up this month.

This night cream is suited for all skin types. But if you are extremely oily use very tiny pea sized amount only at night. Dry to normal skin beauties can use it any time of the day. If you have combination skin you can still use it during the day like I do, but do not use it if you are out in the sun.

Island Kiss Lip Moisturizer Cherry Blossom Flores – Berry Pink Tint :

I received a red tinted lip balm from Island Kiss in the April Glamego box. The shade was called Foxy Red. Honestly I used only this tinted lip balm throughout my North Sikkim trip that same month. Check out the previous post by clicking the below link :

This time I wanted a natural tint. The previous one can be on its own as the red tint in quite distinct. I was looking for a product which I can use as a lip balm under other lip products as well.

The packaging is same as the previous one, only the color coding is different. The retro theme reminds me of The Balm Cosmetics products.

This 100% natural lip moisturizer has great nutrients like mango & avocado butter, beeswax, carrot seed oil, castor oil, macadamia oil, vitamin E and Japanese Cherry blossom oil.

The tube looks cute with the sky blue cap. It is compact and tiny, can be put inside any purse or clutch. You can directly apply it on your lips with the slanted tip. But I feel its not hygienic and makes the product messy. I apply it with my fingers.

The lip balm has quite a thick consistency. You have to rub it into your lips for few seconds before it gets absorbed. But it is extremely moisturizing and very long lasting. I tested out this product while traveling in very cold snowy climate, still it kept my lips hydrated  for at least 4 hours. You can easily reapply it whenever you want.

This shade Berry Pink Tint is a natural peachy pink color. It gives my lips a subtle flush of pink only. Since it looks so natural I can use it easily under any matte lipsticks.

Bio Bloom Body Mist – Valley of Flowers :

This product is again a stock up. I received my first bottle of this body mist in the July Glamego box. Check out the below link for detailed review of this product :

Glamego July 2018 – beauty subscription box review

I have completely used up my previous bottle. I was using the bottle as a travel sized toner 🙂 I absolutely love the fragrance of this product. A beautiful fresh floral scent very good for the summers, though I can wear it any time of the year.

The downside of this product is the mist. Its like a splash of water on your body instead of a fine mist. So I only use it after I finish my shower, apply body moisturizer and then apply it all over my body. I give it few seconds to dry up before wearing clothes.

Though if you want to reapply it later, you can spray it a little carefully on your pulse points. Since it is 100% natural product, it does not leave stain on your clothes. Even if you see a wet dot for few seconds it dries up fast leaving no marks.

Another downside is the longevity. Compared to the price I cannot complain. But on its own it does not last more than an hour. If you apply it over your body moisturizer it gets a nice base to stick to your body. That way the smell lasts 2 to 3 hours in my body. Remember all fragrances fade away if you sweat too much, except very few sweat proof ones. This one is no exception, if you sweat a lot this mist will not work well for you.

Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Lipstick – Lust :

This is the only new product I chose for this month’s box. I got the Manna Kadar Glo Illuminator in my December 2017 Glamego box. Though I heard great reviews about it in Youtube, I did not like it at all. The illuminator gave my skin a very ugly salmon pink tint. Also the formula did not suit my combination skin, it was too greasy for my liking.

But I wanted to give this brand another try. So I chose the Liplocked Priming  lipstick this month.

The packaging is quite standard. The transparent top of the lid helps to identify the shade. I do not know why step 3 is written in the body. It may be part of a lip contour kit.

The tip of the lipstick is slightly slanted. It does not have a pointed tip which I generally prefer in bullet lipstick. The formula is creamy and moisturizing, glides smoothly on the lips. The pigmentation is quite good, 2 swipes is enough even for a nude shade like this.

It is not transfer-proof, and being more on the creamy side rather than matte, this lipstick will fade away from your lips about 4 hours. If you take a heavy meal it will fade away mush faster. But since the formula does not dry up your lips, you can easily reapply it without much prep.

The shade Lust is a peachy nude with slight burnt orange undertones. Though the lipstick bullet looks more on the orange side, it appears more peach on the lips. I quite like the shade for everyday purpose. Its a nice nude shade for every office and college goers. The formula makes it comfortable to wear the entire day, though you need to reapply it after meals. A matching or one shade dark lip liner will make the lipstick last longer, also give your lips better shape.

Hope you enjoyed reading my experience about this month’s Glamego box.

Nice review…when I ordered many products were out of stock
    My choices were
    1. Aroma magic coffee bean scrub- like you even I am not much of a coffee person plus scrub is gentle enough for my liking
    2. Biobloom body mist valley of flowers- I liked the fragrance though it’s very mild
    3. My island kiss lip balm flamingo pink- my favourite from the lot. Color is corallish kind of and it’s extremely sheer on my pigmented lips
    4. Manna kadar lipstick Guilt- I think I should have ordered other shade. Guilt is a pure red colour, again a creamy formula. It’s extremely bright red
    5. Elenblu mascara- I don’t know why I chose this. Because I am not sure whether to use this brand on my eyes or not

Nice choice 🙂 I hope the mascara does not irritate your eyes, because it did in my case.

If you are in India, Glamego is the best and cheapest beauty subscription box. It has mainly skincare products (3) and 1 or 2 makeup item each month. So it’s a good box to start with.
