Hello beauties !! I shared with you the Skincare products I emptied last month. Please check that out if not already.
In this post I will share with you the makeup products I emptied. Now there are also some products in the empties basket which are not really over but still I have decided to donate them to someone / get rid off because they did not suit my liking. I do not have any face items today (except 1 concealer) because they seem to last me for ages 😛 The list contains a lot of lip and eye products which we makeup lovers tend to always overbuy 😀
Lets get started !!
These are the makeup products I emptied / decided to part with this month :

- Amway Absolut Lip colour – 408 Frost (4.3ml)

- Oriflame very me Lip Addict – Fresh Peach (4g for INR299)

- Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil – Grey (INR199)
- Maybelline Dream Lumi touch Highlighting Concealer – Buff Chamois (7.5g for INR450)
Lets start with the Lip products. There are 6 lippies in my empties basket.
BeUfly Paris Lipcolor – 4 Choco Mousse :
I got this lipstick in the November 2017 Glamego box. I do not wear such a dark color, just a personal preference. I am not a very experimental person when it comes to lipstick, I love my reds, pinks, nudes and oranges. But still I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and try something new.
The lipstick is really patchy and applies unevenly. You have to go over at least thrice to get an opaque uniform color. The product is a bit drying on the lips and enhances any dry patches in your lips if you do not exfoliate well.
Overall it is not a horrible product but not one of my liking.
Amway Absolut Lip colour – 408 Frost :
This is a very old lipstick. It belonged to my mom, and then she gave it to me because she got bored wearing it for so long. I am not sure if they are still available or not.
The formula is not too creamy not too drying. It is comfortable to wear during the summer months even without prepping your lips. Pigmentation is also quite good. You get full opaque application in 2 swipes.
It is a good product, but I do not like this particular color. It is a frosty onion pink color which does not look good on my lips. If you have very thin lips like my mom and have medium skin tone, you may like it. It looked pretty on her.
Also since the lipstick is so old, I decided to part with it.
Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede – 005 Muse :
I bought this lipstick when I was shopping for my marriage. The color was an exact match with my lehenga. Also the girl at the Revlon counter told me this is an extremely long wearing lipstick, very good for bridal purpose. It applied nicely at the counter and so I bought it.
If you are also fooled by the staying power of this lipstick, do not even think of buying it. This is the one of those products you highly regret buying. When you apply the product it is quite creamy and glides on smoothly. The pigmentation is also decent.
But if you try to layer it up it kind of slips off your lips. Even if you manage to apply it well, after some time your lips will feel extremely drying and sticky. I do not have chapped lips ever in summer, still my lips crack badly whenever I apply this lip product even if I moisturize my lips well before applying. Also it is not at all long wearing. After 1 or 2 hours the color starts fading from the middle of your mouth and you are left with a horrible butt-hole stained lips. The stain is difficult to remove wherever it clings and your lips gets so chapped that it is almost impossible to reapply it without again going through the preparation process.
Do not buy ever !!
Oriflame very me Lip Addict – Fresh Peach :
I bought this lipstick last year. You can read a detailed review in my Oriflame haul I posted last year. I have hardly used it since then.
The color did not match at all with what was shown in the catalog. It was a light peach color, whereas the lipstick actually appears pale orange when applied. The pigmentation is so less that you have to go over at least 4 to 5 times in order to see some color showing up. The formula is similar to a lip balm. So if you layer it too much your lips become too creamy and heavy. If you think it is good for a no makeup day, remember it is not actually a lip balm, so it does not provide you much hydration like a true balm. Also the staying power is just about an hour after which it fades away.
There are far better options in the same price range, do not buy this one.
Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict – Red Delight :
This is the only lip product in this post which is actually empty 🙂 I have left little to show you the color.
This is another product I bought during my wedding shopping. It is that quintessential red lipstick every bride has in her trousseau. It was newly launched at that time and there was lot of hype around this 3 in 1 product.
As per the brand, this lipstick has 3 properties together – lipstick, lipgloss and lip conditioner. Now all the claims are actually true. The formula is extremely smooth and moisturizing. Also as per the lipgloss claim it has a high reflective finish giving you a wet lip look. It feels light, non-sticky and super comfortable to wear. Pigmentation is also quite good.
However there are 2 drawbacks : 1) the packaging – since the cover is transparent it gets dirty very soon and then the lipstick body looks messy. 2) it does not have much staying power since the formula is so creamy. You can obviously reapply it whenever needed. It is also obviously not transfer proof.
Overall if you are not a matte lip fan / you want a lipstick+gloss in 1 bullet this is a good option to try.
Shiseido Integrate Gracy Lipstick :
This is a gift my mom got from her student on some occasion. Since my mom is of medium to dusky complexion, this color did not suit her. So she gave it to me to try on myself.
The lipstick is quite good. It has a soft sheen with tiny shimmer particles. Texture is creamy and smooth with good pigmentation. It stays for a decent amount of time, after which you can easily are-apply. The packaging is good.
It is a good nude pink color if you are quite fair. But sadly it looks a bit too pale on my skin tone for my liking. So I have decided to donate it to someone lighter than me.
It is a good product to try if it suits your complexion.
Here are the swatches of all the lipsticks mentioned:
Now lets move on to eye products, brow product and concealer. There are 1 felt-tip black liner, 1 metallic liquid liner, 3 colored liner pencils in eye product category.
This is how they look when you open the cap.
Loreal Paris Perfect Slim by Superliner – Intense Black :
I got this as a free gift with my Loreal purchase last year. The only thing good about this liner is the felt tip applicator is very pointed at the end, so it is easier to get a sharp fine winged eye. Also the grip gives you a better balance.
But the eyeliner does not have much pigmentation, the black is also very light and not enough for my liking. Overall not a quality product.
I use it as a brush to apply my gel liners now 😀 I do not recommend this liner at all.
Maybelline Colossal Kajal coloured kohl – Turquoise :
Please do not be mad at me if I tell you that I never liked Maybelline Colossal kajal. I do not like the black classic, but still when they came out with this turquoise color I thought of giving this very popular kajal another chance. The packaging is good, the yellow color is a good break from the usual black retractable pencils.
Though I like the color, I do not know why I find that in order to get good pigmentation these colossal kajals have to be rubbed and swiped multiple times on both my lower and upper lashline. Also they start fading after few hours. This particular color dries out very fast, even then I tried to apply it by warming the tip in candle flame.
There are so many good options available in affordable range for turquoise colored eyeliners that you do not need to invest in this product.
Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil – Soft Nude :
I love few of the colors in this Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil range. It is a really good product to apply on your upper lashline. Though remember they do not last well on the lower lashline, they fade away quickly. But on the upper lashline they are smooth to apply, very pigmented and lasts quite long.
This particular color is not well suited for my skintone. I bought this to give a highlighted effect when I am not in a mood to apply any color on my lower waterline. But it was too creamy and clumped up on my lower lashes. Also the color was too light for me and it made my dark circles look more defined.
If you have lighter skin tone, this can be a good product to highlight your upper as well as lower waterline. But this product may become clumpy if you layer it more.
Lakme Absolute Shine Line – Shimmery Bronze :
I bought this eyeliner on a Diwali offer Lakme was having. I wanted to try this metallic liquid liners for a very long time. I had heard many beauty gurus rave about it when it was released. I got a good discount on this item, so I was even more happy.
I opted for this bronze color since it goes well with any colored outfits. I dont need to match it to any specific dress. I had high expectations from this liner. But it turned to be one of the worst liquid liners I have ever tried 😦
The shimmer particles present in this liner are so gritty that it pains my lash line when I apply or remove it. That makes it a very bad product to apply on such a soft sensitive area like our eyes. The bad experience doesn’t here. After few hours of applying it, it dries up your lashline so much that the area will feel stretched and dry. Soon after it crumples and falls off slowly in patches. Imagine the horrific experience !!
I am not sure if all the shades in this range are equally disastrous or its just this bronze, but I had such a bad experience that I am not in any mood to waste my money further.
I do not recommend this product at all.
Oriflame very me Double Trouble – Mocha Loca :
I feel this post may be giving you a very negative vibe. But I am trying to share my disappointing products so that you do not fall in the same trap like me.
This is another disappointing products I mentioned in my Oriflame haul last year. The color looked really promising and it was very affordable, so I ordered it. It has almost zero pigmentation, extremely chalky and even if you are successful to apply something it does not stay on your lash line at all. Overall it does nothing good.
Even if it is on the affordable side, do not waste your money buying this eyeliner.
Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil – Grey :
As you can see I have hardly used this brow pencil. It is very affordable and the store lady insisted that this is a good everyday product, so I thought of giving it a shot.
The pencil is not very pigmented which may seem good thing for beginners. But the problem is the pigmentation is too less, so you have to go over multiple times which may cause uneven application. Also the product is extremely chalky. Even with a spoolie it does not give you an even look. The strokes are quite identifiable and do not blend well. The product name says “creamy” which is not quite true. It is not smooth at all and even waxy to my liking to hold my brow hairs in place.
Overall I will suggest to not buy this product even if it is super affordable. Invest in a good quality one.
Maybelline Dream Lumi touch Highlighting Concealer – Buff Chamois :
Another very popular product from Maybelline which did not work out for me. It is named as a highlighting concealer which it does to some extent. I have emptied it since I invested my money.
If you suffer from dark circles like me, even if you apply an orange corrector underneath it will make your under eyes appear grey. The brush applicator is so big that a lot of product comes out of it, more than you actually need which makes the transparent cap really messy. Since the product targets to only highlight the under eyes, it does not give you much coverage. The shade range is very limited and so will not suit every skin tone.
I think the Maybelline Fit me concealer is far better than this product. In case you do not have any undereye problems and only want to highlight your features, you may like this product.
But my recommendation is the L.A. Girl Pro conceal concealers. They are so far my favorite multi use product in the affordable range.
Here are the swatches of the eye products, brow pencil and concealer I mentioned.
Hope this post helped you in some way. I am not bashing / pulling down any brand. I love many products from the brands I mentioned in this post. These are the products which did not suit my requirement / skin tone.
Let me know if you own any of these and share your experience in the comment section below.
